From Education to Employment: Empowering Haiti's Next Generation
At LAAHKU, we believe sustainable community development begins with education, access to technology, and the creation of meaningful economic opportunities.
Through our collaboration with Haiti Green Solutions, we developed a community-based initiative introducing young people in La Montagne, Jacmel, to renewable energy technologies and practical solar applications.
Using educational solar kits from ZOLA Electric and WOW Solar, participating students received hands-on exposure to solar energy systems, learning foundational concepts in renewable electricity, energy independence, and sustainable technology.
Turning Education Into Opportunity
Our collaboration extended beyond technical training. Together, we supported the establishment of a local Haiti Green Solutions office in La Montagne, Jacmel, creating employment opportunities within the community.
One of the initiative's most meaningful achievements was seeing students who participated in our educational programs transition into paid employment. The same young people who began as students became members of the local workforce, applying their knowledge and contributing to their community's development.
This transformation reflects LAAHKU's approach to community empowerment: connecting education directly to practical skills, employment, and long-term economic independence.
